Bring personalized music moments to every youth sports game. Make the booth a job any parent can do well, and make every player feel like the game was about them for a few seconds.
How it started.
Sideline DJ was started by Lyn Bryan, a hockey and baseball parent who grew up playing field hockey in Northern Ireland, where youth games had no music at all. Moving to Canada changed that. The first time Lyn walked into a Canadian rink and heard music in the warm-up and after every goal, it was a revelation.
The idea for the app came from one goal. Lyn's son was playing in his first big hockey tournament, and the night before, they had picked his goal song together. Then he broke away and scored.
By the time I found the song, the moment had passed.
The crowd still cheered, but the moment they had planned never happened. Every parent who has done booth duty knows that feeling. So Sideline DJ was built to make sure the song is ready when the goal is: one tap for the horn, the name and the song, with everything else out of the way until it's needed.
