Sideline DJ is a one-tap soundboard for the parent or volunteer running music at a youth sports game. It plays the goal horn, calls out the player who scored with a voiced announcement, and plays the right song for each moment of the game: warm-up, puck drop, goals, penalties, faceoffs, breaks and the final buzzer.

Team managers, parents and coaches who get handed booth duty, and associations that want every team's games to sound the same way. You don't need any DJ or audio experience.

Youth hockey is first, and the beta is hockey only. The game flow, buttons and music moments are built around periods, faceoffs and penalties. Other sports come after we've got hockey right.

No. Sideline DJ runs in the web browser on your phone or laptop. Add it to your home screen before game day and it opens like an app. A native iPhone app is next on the rollout.

No. Everything runs on your phone. Connect it to the rink's sound system or a speaker and you're set.

Tap Goal. The horn fires right away and a picker opens so you can tap the player who scored. Their voiced goal call plays, the score updates, and the goal song starts. One more tap credits the assist. If nobody is sure who scored, skip straight to the song.

Tap Opponent. Their goal is counted, any music fades out, and nothing plays. No horn, no song, no call.

When your lead reaches four goals, the horn and call-outs switch off by themselves for the rest of the game. One tap turns them back on. A big win also ends on a friendly good-game song instead of a victory anthem.

The goal horn and every player announcement are saved on your phone, so they play without a connection. Streaming songs need a data connection.

Yes. Run a test game, then reset to 0-0. Test runs are kept out of your real game history.

Undo sits right under each team's score. Change song swaps the current goal song without a second horn or a second goal.

Apple Music is the main source for the beta. You connect your Apple Music subscription and pick at least three genres, and Sideline DJ picks songs for each moment of the game from a library curated for youth sports. You can also play your own music files. The goal horns are built in.

Spotify is in early testing on iPhone. Apple Music is the supported source for the beta.

Yes. Youth teams only get clean edits, and the explicit filter is locked on for youth divisions. It can't be switched off.

They are created automatically in an announcer voice when you add a player to the roster. You can hear each one before game day and record it again if it needs another take.

Yes. Set an Announced as name, like T-Birds for Thunder Birds A2, and add a pronunciation hint so it sounds right.

Yes. Goal calls rotate through five wordings, and every player on the roster gets the same treatment. Nobody is singled out for scoring again.

Playing recorded music in a public venue is covered by a performance licence, and most arenas already hold one (in Canada through SOCAN and Re:Sound, in the US through ASCAP and BMI). Check with your rink before your first game.

Setup happens once, at home. Add your roster one player at a time or in bulk, pick your age group, horn and genres, and you're ready for the season.

Co-DJ invites, so another parent can cover the booth from their own phone, are on the list for the beta. Tell us if you need it when you join.

Pick your players' birth years or a division shortcut like U13. Youth age groups turn on the youth protections, including the locked explicit filter.
