With a fresh wave of momentum and a mission rooted in community, Sideline DJ is skating full speed toward its first big milestone: launching a music-powered youth sports experience just in time for hockey season this September.
What started as an idea on the sidelines, parents playing walk-up songs from their phones, has become a purpose-driven product journey to bring energy, identity, and joy to game days across North America.

Youth sports are full of emotion: anticipation, pride, nerves, excitement. But most of the technology built around sports focuses on logistics and scheduling. We saw a gap, and a chance to elevate the emotional experience of game day.
Sideline DJ is built for parents, coaches, and kids to bring curated, personalized music moments to life. Whether it's a goal horn, an MVP shoutout, or a locker room warm-up anthem, the app makes it effortless to trigger music in real time, and build memories that last well beyond the buzzer.
Where We Are Now: MVP in Progress
We're currently developing the MVP with one goal: make it easy, make it fun, and make it work, every time.
The MVP Includes:
- One free team to get started
- Assignable music moments by sport (e.g., Goal, Walk-up, Timeout, etc.)
- Spotify-only integration (for now) for seamless music selection and playbook
- Age-appropriate curated playlists (no explicit lyrics)
- Role-based sharing with other parents or coaches
Our MVP includes flexible music options, subscription logic, and game-ready design made for one-handed sideline use.

We're moving quickly with one goal in mind: have a clean, confident v1 ready by early September, right when hockey season kicks off across Canada and the northern U.S.
Over the next 8 weeks, we'll be:
- Finalizing UI and music moment logic for each sport
- Locking in curated playlists by age group
- Testing Spotify playback performance across devices
- Enabling first users to onboard, test, and share their feedback
